Biography

My name is Tara M. Boadu and I am a licensed psychologist.  As a therapist, my style is very personal, warm and tailored to your needs.  I am described by my colleagues as “warm and fuzzy” but I am also honest and objective in viewing clients problems.  I see therapy as a partnership between the client and I to work on problems together.  Through therapy, you will discover solutions for yourself and grow as a person.   While the decision to begin therapy can be difficult, it is often the first step towards resolving those issues that have been continually affecting you and your relationships.  I help people improve their lives by building on strengths, teaching new skills and increasing self-awareness.  By carefully listening to you, and understanding both your situation and who you are, I tailor an approach based on your unique needs.

I am very flexible with my hours and generally can get new clients an appointment within the week.  I can take a variety of different insurances and also do sliding scale.

THERAPY ORIENTATION:  I consider myself an integrationist and try to conceptualize my therapy and treatment plan based on the clients problems, culture and viewpoint.  Generally I lean more towards cognitive-behavioral models of treatment as well as existential-oriented therapy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  I have been in the mental health field since 1990 and a therapist for the past 14 years.  I came to Pathway in February, 2008.
