Biography

Dr. Robert Roney has been in full time clinical practice since 1987. He is one of the founding partners of the Pathway Center for Psychotherapy. In addition to his clinical practice, Bob is actively involved in the training of psychotherapists through clinical supervision.

Prior to developing his counseling and psychotherapy practice, Dr. Roney pastored churches in Brinmingham, AL and Memphis, TN.

Dr. Roney is married and has raised five children. He has recently delighted in the birth of a gradson. With his family, Bob enjoys boating.

Education

Dr. Roney holds a Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Theology from Princeton, and a Bachelor’s from the University of Georgia.

Bob has a certificate in supervision for Marriage and Family Therapists and Pastoral Counselors. Bob has the Fellow status with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and is a Member of the American Academy of Psychotherapists. Previously, he was chair of the Southern Region in AAP.

Dr. Roney has published articles and presented workshops on the integration of spirituality with mental health.
