Individual Psychotherapy
The basic intent of individual psychotherapy is to help the person to increase his or her capacity to experience, to grow, to become increasingly authentic, increasingly healthy, more whole. Problems restrict the capacity for experience, for being authentically in the world.
Couples Counseling
We become a couple believing that we can create a family that is better and happier than the one we grew up in; and we deserve to accomplish that goal. In couples’ counseling we ask: What are the fundamental obstacles to a relationship that is both deeply intimate and profoundly equal?
Family Therapy
Symptoms are apt to recycle, in the same or different forms, in the same or different family members. Trying to “cure” a person in isolation from his or her family is often misdirected and can ultimately be ineffective. Therefore, it is often best to work with the entire family, using the family’s strengths to find a cure.
Group Therapy
We bring who we are into every relationship. Groups provide a safe context for exploring how we impact, and are impacted by others. Group therapy provides an opportunity to risk new behaviors that have seemed impossible before, and can be a powerful source of learning and healing. This learning can then be integrated into the rest of our lives.
